Applications are invited for admission to MDS Program in various disciplines in institutions for the academic
year 2015
Course Duration
The duration of the course is 3 academic years; the academic year for MDS commences in the month of
April every year
Course Details
MDS is offered in the following specialties
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology,
Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Public
Health Dentistry
Integrated MDS with PhD Program is available in all the above mentioned specialities
Eligibility
A candidate for admission to the MDS course (Master of Dental Surgery) must possess a degree of BDS
(Bachelor of Dental Surgery) duly recognized by the Dental Council of India and should have obtained
permanent registration from any of the State Dental Councils of India
Candidate not possessing a recognized dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior
approval regarding qualification by the Dental Council of India before he/she can be admitted to the MDS
course
The candidate for admission to MDS course should have completed his/her C.R.I (Compulsory Rotatory
Internship) on or before 31st April 2015
Admission Procedure
The admission for MDS degree course is based on merit depending on the performance of the candidate
Prospective students should have appeared for the All‐india UNi‐Gauge entrance examination to be
eligible for admission into MDS at Saveetha University
The candidate should apply to Saveetha University with UNi‐Gauge® score based on the cumulative exam
score, candidates will be invited for counselling and offered admission

CAT Aptitude Test
The students should present an abstract essay or prepare a video presentation that will be evaluated, by an
external committee for their aptitude and the suitability for their program of choice
CDT Dexterity Test
The students will be asked to perform a simple clinical procedure related to their field of application;
their performance will be evaluated by the Head of the Dept.; CES scoring will be issued on the same day
of counseling
Counseling
The call letter for counseling will be sent individually to the eligible candidates; the selected candidates
should appear for counseling on the said date and time; the counseling will be held on 05th March 2015
in Saveetha Dental College, 162, Poonamallee High Road, Chennai‐600077
Seat allotment will be done based on the rank list subject to fulfillment of the eligibility criteria
MDS (Ranks 1‐50): 05th March 2015 (08.00 a.m.)
Fee Structure
The Candidates once selected for admission should pay the following fees through Demand Draft only at
the time of Admission and thereafter in the month of March every year; the fees once paid will not be
refunded
In case the candidate wants to discontinue/ withdraw during the middle of the course, he/she has to pay
the entire course fee (for three years) before discontinuing from the course
