Admission to UG / PG Courses of Academic Year 2015-16 through Entrance Exam

Northern Indian Institute of Fashion Technology, NIIFT, invites applicants for UG and PG courses for the academic year 2015-16 at Mohali, Ludhiana and Jalandhar. The institute is affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar

B.Sc Fashion Design - 180 (60 seats each at Mohali, Ludhiana & Jalandhar)

B.Sc. Fashion Design (Knits) - 60 (60 seats at Ludhiana)

B.Sc Textile Design -60 (60 seats at Mohali)

Post Graduate Programmes      

M.Sc Garment Manufacturing Technology - 60 (60 seats at Mohali)

M.Sc Fashion Marketing & Merchandising - 60 (60 seats at Mohali)

Note: NIIFT will be able to run the courses subject to minimum admission of 10 students in each course at each centre; NIIFT reserve the right to withdraw to run any course

Eligibility Criteria

Under Graduate Programs (B.Sc)

[Fashion Design/ Fashion Design (Knits)/ Textile Design]: The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination such as CBSE , New Delhi and Council for Indian School of Certificate New Delhi; or

General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London /Cambridge/ Sri Lanka at the Advanced ( A ) level; or

Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or in Foreign countries recognized by Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system; or A pass grade in Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by National Open School with minimum of five subjects; or 3 or 4 years diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education

Postgraduate Programmes (M.Sc)

[Garment Manufacturing Technology /Fashion Marketing & Merchandising]: Three years Bachelors Degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by Association of Indian Universities or Diploma in Fashion Design, NIIFT only

For Foreign Bachelors Degree, not recognized by Association of Indian Universities, proper certifications by National Body constituted in country concerned for granting equivalence will have to be produced

Reservation of Seats

The reservation policy followed by NIIFT for seats in each programme is as follows. (Subject to the condition of defined eligibility)

SC - 15%

ST - 7.5%

PH - 03%

Foreign National/NRI - 07 seats

SC/ ST Candidates: Candidates applying under this reserved quota would have to produce a Caste/Tribe certificate from Competent Authority of respective State /Union Territories/National Commission of Tribes

PH Candidates: Candidates seeking admission under this physically handicapped quota must produce a Disability Certificate issued by Medical Board attached with Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (VRC) working under Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India, certifying their disability as 40% or more

Foreign/ NRI Candidates: 07 seats in each discipline are reserved for admission of Foreign Nationals whether residing in India or abroad, applicants from Non Resident Indians are as specified in Income Tax Act 1961

The admission to NIIFT Programmes to NRI/ Foreign Nationals will be offered on first com first serve basis. Candidate must attach an attested copy of proof of status of NRI/ Foreign National

The seats of SC /ST are interchangeable depending upon candidates available in each category and any seat left there after will be offered to General category. Any seats left vacant in NRI and PH Category will be offered to General Category

Application Form

Candidates have to submit the application online athttps://applyadmission.net/niiftmohali2015/Guidelines.htm

i) Candidates belonging to General Category are required to make payment of Rs.1750/- either direct online payment through credit card / Debit card/ net banking to AIMA or in form ofDemand Draft of Rs.1750/- in favour of NIIFT Mohali

ii) Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ PHP Category are required to make payment of Rs.1150/-either direct online payment through credit card / Debit card/ net banking to AIMA or in form of Demand Draft of Rs.1150/- in favour of NIIFT Mohali

Candidates belonging to NRI category are required to make payment of USD 100 vide DD in favour of NIIFT Mohali

iii) Fill the form online and send a printout of filled in form along with photograph pasted on it and demand draft (if applicable) to "The Manager CMS, All India Management Association, Management House, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-11000" latest by 25th May 2015
Note

Send the duly completed Print Version of Online Application Form having Auto Generated Application No. to "The Project Manger CMS, All India Management Association, Management House, 14, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003" so as to reach on or before  25th May 2015

Registration Process will be completed only on receipt of Print Version of Online Application Form
Eligible candidates applying for both UG & PG programmes have to fill separate online application forms and have to submit separate print out of filled application form containing different auto generated application number alongwith separate demand draft of requisite fee
