Categories of Postgraduate Seats: There are four categories of Post Graduate seats available in Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal; Sponsored, Open, RIMS-AIQ and Non-RIMS graduate category

MD/MS: The courses will be of 3 (three) years from the date of admission and 2 years for those with recognized two years PG Diploma holders in the same subjectDiploma: The course will be of 2 (two) years from the date of admission

Eligibility Criteria
Sponsored Category: The candidate must be an Indian National, hold MBBS degree from a Medical College/Institute recognized by MCI and has obtained permanent registration from MCI or any State Medical CouncilsIn the nomination letter, any directive/option of subject preference mentioned against the names of candidates will not be entertained as the allotment of seats will be strictly in order of merit of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Post Graduate)
Open Category: The candidate must be an Indian National, hold MBBS degree from Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal and has obtained permanent registration from MCI or any State Medical Councils
A candidate who is completing 12-months compulsory rotatory internship on or before 31st March 2017 and supported by certificate from the Head of the Institute, can appear in the Counselling for admission to MD/MS/Diploma Courses
Non-RIMS Category: The candidate must be an Indian National, hold MBBS degree from Recognized Medical Institutions except RIMS, Imphal and has obtained permanent registration from MCI or any State Medical Councils
No candidate who has already obtained an MD/MS Degree is eligible to apply
Selection of Candidates through NEET-2017
It will be strictly based on the marked obtained in the NEET (Postgraduate) 2017 examination. Selection is purely on merit basisSelection of candidates for admission to post-graduate medical courses against sponsored category seats shall be applicable to the in-service (regular basis) medical graduates belonging to the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura
Selection of open category of seats will be made from bonafide/permanent residents of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura who have completed their medical graduation from Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imhphal
Selection of Non-RIMS category of seats will be made from banafide/permanent residents of North-Eastern Region except Assam who have completed their medical graduation from any MCI recognized medical institution except RIMS Imphal
How to Apply
A candidates seeking counselling for admission is required to submit his/her application in the prescribed form only. The candidates should fill in the application form in his/her own handwriting, clearly and legiblyApplication form should reach the Office of the Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Lamphelpat, Imphal-795004 (Manipur) on or before 28th February 2017
The application should accompany a Demand Draft of Rs.1500/- for all category candidates from any nationlized bank of India (except UBI, RIMS Branch) drawn in favour of Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal payable at Imphal
The application form can be obtained from the Academic Section, RIMS, Imphal on payment of Rs.200/- or can be downloaded from the RIMS website www.rims.edu.in from 28th February 2017
