AICTE Notification for Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) -

About CMAT:

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level entrance examination conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The CMAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. This test facilitates Institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission in all Management programs. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. The CMAT 2016 will be conducted on 17th January 2016.

Duration of test is 180 minutes (3 hours)
  • There shall be negative marking for wrong answers, for each wrong answer 1 mark shall be deducted.
  • A Trial test will be available from 12-Dec-2015. Onwards for the candidates to have a feel of the online test and navigation functionality. Candidates are advised to go through them carefully to familiarize themselves with the screens, layout, and navigation.
  • At the test venue, each candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations. After the test, candidate must leave the scratch paper at the desk. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room. No breaks will be given during the test.

Eligibility Criteria for CMAT 2016 Exam:
  • Applicant must be a citizen of India.
  • Graduates in any discipline can apply for CMAT exam.
  • Final year students of Graduate Courses (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2016-17 can also apply for CMAT online exam.
Payment Process:

Payment can be done via two modes:
  • PAYMENT: You can select ONLINE PAYMENT mode and then do the payment using Credit card / Debit card / Net Banking. Once your payment is successfully done, you will receive a confirmation E-mail and SMS. Once you have received the successful payment confirmation, you can proceed with the remaining part of registration process
  • CASH Payment in SBI bank: You can select this option to pay by CASH at any of the designated SBI bank branch. Once you select this option and proceed, you will see a CHALLAN on your screen with your details already filled in it. You need to take 3 PRINT OUTS of this CHALLAN, fill in the details wherever required in all the copies, and walk in to your nearest SBI bank branch with CASH on the next day of generation of Challan. Cash Deposit will be accepted only from the next day of your Challan generation
E.g.If you Generate and Print the Challan copies on 3rd November, 2015, then walk in to the nearest SBI bank branch with Challan copies and CASH from 4th November, 2015 onwards. Similarly if you PRINT the CHALLAN copies on 4th November, 2015, then walk in to the nearest SBI bank branch with Challan copies and CASH from 5th November 2015 onwards

NOTE: The last date to pay CASH in bank is 11th December 2015 and from there onwards to complete registration is 13th December 2015. Submission of final application after payment will not be possible after 13th December, 2015.

Only one registration process is conducted for all Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs offered by different institutes of Symbiosis International University (SIU). Your selection for the PI-WAT process is based on your scores in Academic Profile (AP) and SNAP. AP score is calculated as: AP= (A*1)+(B*1.5)+(C*2.5); A, B and C are scores acquired in Classes X, XII and graduation respectively. The final score is obtained with 80% weightage to SNAP score and 20% weightage to AP score.

Eligibility:

B.Tech :
  • One should have passed Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (45% of marks for SC Students and 40% of marks for ST students)  
  • For admission in Lateral Entry to 3rd semester or 2nd year of BE/BTech one should have passed three years diploma in engineering with at least 60% marks in aggregate. MCA : For admission to the MCA the candidate must have scored minimum 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in the examinations of class 12th, Graduation with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics as one of the subjects. There is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates.

MBA : Candidates are required to have passed graduation in any stream, from any recognized University.

Ph.D : Minimum educational qualification required for admission to Ph.D. Programme in Engineering Departments is any one of the following. Eligibility:

PhD:
(a) Masters degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Sciences/ Humanities and Social Sciences/ Management/ Architecture or equivalent with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institutes wherever letter grades are awarded or 60% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded.
(b) In exceptional cases, applicants with B.Tech. Degree or equivalent in respective discipline with excellent academic record with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or equivalent as determined by the Institutes wherever letter grades are awarded or 60% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded may be considered eligible for admission.
(c) If an applicant has been awarded research fellowship by any National / International funding agency such as UGC/CSIR/AICTE etc.
(d) An employee sponsored by his/her employer may be considered for admission as a sponsored full time Scholar provided he/she posses minimum entry qualification in the relevant discipline and has a minimum of 2 years experience and is treated by the employer as on duty with normal salary and allowances and is relieved for the period of study. In such cases he/she should produce sponsorship certificate from the parent organization along with the application for admission to the programme.

MBA:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy/ Agriculture Engg. or M.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics or Statistics.

M. Sc. :
  • Mathematics: B.Sc. with Mathematics as main subject
  • Physics: B.Sc. or B.Sc. Honours in Physics & Mathematics at graduate level.
  • Chemistry: B.Sc. or B.Sc. Honours in Chemistry.

B.Tech / BArch:
The students are admitted through AIEEE according to all India rank, and admission is counseled by Central Counseling Board, constituted by MHRD, Govt. of India.
