Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa shall conduct Goa Common Entrance Test - GCET 2015 for admission to Professional Courses in MBBS,
BDS, BHMS, B.E., B.Arch & B.Pharm., Allied Health Sciences (BPT,
BOT, B.Opt., B.Sc.M.I.T., B.Sc.A.T.) B.Sc in Nursing in the State of Goa for the academic year 2015-16

MBBS: 5½ duration; 150 seats
BDS: 5 years duration; 40 seats
BE (Information Technology): 04 years duration; 60+3* seats
B.E. (Computer): 04 years duration; 60+3* seats
B.E. (Electronics & Telecom.): 04 years duration; 60+3* seats
B.E. (Electronics & Communi.): 04 years duration; 60+3* seats
B.E. (Electrical & Electronics): 04 years duration; 60+3* seats
B.E. (Mechanical): 04 years duration; 60+3* seats
B.E. (Civil): 04 years duration; 60+3* seats
B.E. (Mining): 04 years duration; 30+2* seats
B.Pharm: 04 years duration; 60+3* seats

*Out of 60 seats, 15 seats are reserved for Management Quota, admission for which shall be done at Institution
Eligibility Criteria
GCET admission to Professional Degree courses included in this prospectus, an applicant must fulfil the following criteria:
Nationality: Admission
to professional courses in State of Goa is open to Indian nationals
fulfilling the eligibility criteria under various categories.
Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport may also apply for seats
reserved under NRI category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons
of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for
admissions to seats under NRI Category
Foreign Nationals must apply to Govt. of India
Age: An applicant to
Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Homoeopathy Allied Health
Sciences and Nursing must have competed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2015 of the academic year of admission to become eligible for admission to First Year
No age limit, minimum or maximum, is specified for admission to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture
Valid score at GCET-2015: An applicant for Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, Homoeopathy, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing must have appeared and obtained valid score at the Goa Common Entrance Test GCET conducted by Govt of Goa for the year of admission

GCET score of the previous year/s shall
not be valid; for Medicine and Dentistry Degree courses, minimum GCET
score should be 50% (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC and 45% for applicants
belonging to PH category) aggregate in specified subjects
No minimum limit is specified for other courses
An applicant for Degree Course in Architecture must have appeared and obtained valid score at NATA conducted by Council of Architecture
Qualifying Exam & Minimum Marks: An
applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate
Exam of the Goa Board or an Exam conducted by the CBSE New Delhi, or
any other exam, which in scope and standard, is deemed to be equivalent
to the HSSC exam of Goa Board, and must have obtained the minimum
percentage of marks in the specific subjects, as prescribed for the
admission to respective professional courses, as under
a) First Year MBBS, BDS, BHMS, AHS & B.Sc. in Nursing
MBBS, BDS, BHMS & AHS: Applicant
should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) exam of
Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its
equivalent exam with English & secured not less than 50% marks in
the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken
together. (40% for the applicants belonging to SC/ST & OBC only and
45% for applicants belonging to PH category for MBBS /BDS Course)
B.Sc in Nursing: Applicants
should have passed HSSC with minimum 50% aggregate marks, as well as
secure 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology for
General Category, (45% aggregate marks in all subjects for candidates
belonging to SC/ST category, as well as min. 50% aggregate marks in
English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
b) First Year B.E.: The
applicant should have passed the HSSC (Std.XIIth) Exam of the Goa
Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent
exam with English, Physics & Maths as compulsory subjects with one
of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer
Sci./Biology, & secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate to
SC/ST and OBC only)
c) First Year B.Pharm: The
applicant should have passed the HSSC (Std.XIIth) Exam of the Goa
Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent
exam with English, Physics & Chemistry as compulsory subjects with
one of the following subjects Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer
Science/Biology, and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate
of subjects of Physics & Chemistry with one of the following
subjects Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology (40% for
the applicants belonging to SC/ST & OBC only)
As per Pharmacy Council of India
Regulations, candidates passing Senior Secondary School Exam conducted
by National Open School, New Delhi are not approved/eligible for
admissions to B.Pharm
d) First Year B.Arch.: The
applicant should have passed the HSSC (Std.XIIth) Exam of the Goa
Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent
exam with Mathematics as one of the subjects and secured at least 50%
marks in aggregate (45% aggregate marks for applicants belonging to
SC/ST/OBC); or
10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by
Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks; or International
Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than
50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of
exam
Applicants scoring min 80/200 at NATA
will be eligible for admission to B.Arch., provided NATA score is
obtained by answering NATA exam before last date of submission of
admission form
e. Kashmiri Migrants Only in Engg Courses: The
applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate
(Std.XIIth) exam or its equivalent exam with English, Physics &
Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects
Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology & secured not
less than 45% marks
f) Admission of Eligible Diploma/B.Sc Degree holders to First Year of Engg/Pharmacy Degree Courses: Candidates
who have passed Diploma in Engineering /B.Sc Degree with Mathematics
as a subject at Std XIIth , with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case
of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC), shall be eligible for admission
to First Year of Engg Degree Courses, subject to vacancies in First
Year, after vacancies at Lateral Entry into Direct Second Year are
exhausted
The merit list of such candidates shall be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored at qualifying exam
GCET 2015 Exam Pattern
The exam will consist of four papers as physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology
Each paper will consist of 75 (Seventy Five) questions to be answered in two hours (One hundred & twenty minutes)
Each question shall have four choices for answers, out of which only one shall be correct
Correct answer shall carry one mark for each question. There will be no negative marking for wrong/multiple answers

The examination will be in English language only
The questions will be composed from the
11th & 12th syllabus prescribed by the Goa Board of Secondary and
Higher Secondary Education
Selection Process
The selection will be made through the
counselling process; the candidates will be ranked as per their
individual score in GCET result 2015 and called for counselling
After the successful processing of counselling, the candidates will be allotted the institutions and seat as per their ranks
How to Apply
1. The Directorate of Technical
Education, Government of Goa shall conduct Goa Common Entrance Test
2015 (GCET-15) for admissions to Professional Degree courses in
Medical, Dental, Engineering, Pharmacy, Homeopathy, Allied Health
Sciences and Nursing (at Institute of Nursing Education)in the State of
Goa, for the academic year 2015-16
Admissions to Degree course in Architecture shall be on the basis of NATA as per details given under eligibility
2. This prospectus is uploaded on website www.dtegoa.gov.in of the Directorate of Technical Education
3. Applicants shall download, print and
submit application form for GCET-2015 (Form A), at notified locations
as per Centre opted, on specified dates, along with application fee of Rs.1500/- payable vide demand draft drawn in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji - Goa,
on any Scheduled Bank, and three identical photographs as indicated,
and other relevant certificates (self attested photo copies), to obtain
the Photo-Admit Card, from the Admission Committee
4. The applicant should submit the
Application Form (A) for GCET-15 in person at the notified Application
Reception Centre as per centre opted, along with a Demand Draft of Rs.1500/- payable in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji, and three identical photographs as indicated, and obtain the Photo-Admit Card, from the Admission Committee, on the same day
5. Incomplete Application Forms shall not
be accepted. Application Form for GCET-15 shall not be accepted by
post or through messenger. Forms shall be accepted with additional Late Fee of Rs.1000/- till scheduled date (30th April 2015)
Forms shall not be accepted after the last date of submission mentioned in the prospectus
Mode of Payment
Following fees are payable through
separate bank drafts of any Nationalised or Scheduled bank to the
authority mentioned against the payment Rs.1000/- by Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Director of Technical Education" payable at Panaji or in cash at the time of admission
The admit card will be issued only to
candidates by hand; after the general prescribed date, the applications
will be submitted with additional late fee of Rs.1000/- only
