Apart from the traditional branches which include Civil, Mechanical and Electrical, engineering offers a vista of branches and specialization options. One can opt for B.E/ B.Tech in the disciplines of computer Science, electronics, Chemical, Automobile, Ceramics, Environmental, Textile, Marine, Production engineering etc. Engineering courses are usually offered at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. The eligibility criterion for undergraduate courses is a pass in 10+2 with 50% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics. For postgraduate course i.e. M.E/M.Tech, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required and for doctoral course, post graduation in the relevant subject is essential. Admission to the engineering courses is done on the basis of merit in the entrance exam conducted at the state or national level. Regarding the program of study, the topics and the syllabus differ from stream to stream. Generally, engineering students are given lessons through experiments in the laboratories, practical exposure, apart from bookish knowledge.

Careers
in Engineering
One of the oldest career options
though, engineering still remains the choicest career option among the
youngsters. The stream offers lot of opportunities for the graduates, who are
in great demand in almost all type of organization. Unlike yesteryears, when
students had limited options to choose from, today, with development of science
and technology, engineering offers a wide range of options like aeronautical,
computer science, electrical,
electronics, textile, agricultural, industrial,
production engineering, etc. Engineering is a profession full of challenges
where creativity and ingenuity know no limit or boundaries. This is one
profession which can make you explore the depths of ocean and take you to as
far as the outer space.
Finding India to be at the forefront of the global race,
Engineering Colleges in India have germinated manifold. The cost of attending a
college in India is far cheaper than in most economically established countries
which are great for everyone attending. The lower cost doesn't reflect a lower
education and the education is actually far superior in India compared to many
countries. Yet not everybody can join their preferred top engineering college.
It is easy to get into any engineering college, but to get in top engineering
college; you need to work day and night. Well there is always another way.
i.e., B.E/B.Tech admission through management quota. Career Guidance can help you get B.E/B.Tech admission through
management quota.
India is known for the many world class high rise buildings
that they build and many of them are works of art that twist and bend the laws
of gravity. I'm surprised as to the massive engineering that they do in India
and they are currently a country with lots of
money and developing into a world class
country. There are already millions of international born people living in
India and many of those are from North America.
For an amazing education in India make sure you think about
an engineering program. They are abundant in the country and many colleges have
the program so you will be able to take your pick at quite a number of colleges.
This gives you some option in where you want to go, and typically you should
look for a local college before moving into other regions as traveling to the
college isn't fun.
