Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune conducted Common Entrance Test - CET 2015 for admission to MBBS / BDS/BAMS/BHMS Courses for the academic year 2015-16

The CET-2015 will consists of one question paper; it will be set in English medium and will contain 200 multiple choice objective type questions, 50 each on Physics, Chemistry and 100 question on Biology

Eligibility Criteria

BVP Common eligibility requirements for admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS
Only those candidates who would satisfy or are likely to satisfy the relevant eligibility requirements for admission to a course will be considered eligible to appear for the common entrance test (CET-2015) and subsequently for admission to that course
Nationality & Age: The candidate seeking admission to any of these courses should be an Indian national and candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2015
Educational Qualifications: The candidate seeking admission to any of the courses should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSC) or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) or any other examination equivalent to 10+2/HSC examination of any recognised board/university from any school/college situated in India after 12 years of study
MBBS/BDS Courses: Admission to MBBS/BDS course the candidate should have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology taken together in the qualifying examinations 10+2/HSC or equivalent
The candidate should also have secured at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at CET-2015 for admission to MBBS/BDS course
The candidate belonging to the SC/ST should have obtained at least 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examinations as well as at CET-2015
BAMS Course: The candidates seeking admission to this course should have passed 10+2/HSC or equivalent examination in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology individually and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together (in case of SC/ST students 40%)
BHMS Course: The candidates seeking admission to this course should have passed 10+2/HSC or equivalent examination in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually, and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together (in case of SC/ST students 40%)
However, if any seats remain vacant in BHMS course, the candidates having qualifications as prescribed in Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH) as minimum qualification will also be considered eligible for admission
Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination 10+2/HSC or equivalent but whose results have not been declared will also be considered eligible to appear for CET-2015, provided they have offered the above mentioned subjects at the said examinations
If candidate fails to fulfill the relevant eligibility requirements as mentioned above will not be considered eligible for admission to any of these courses, viz. MBBS/BDS/BAMS /BHMS, even if he/she is placed in the merit list of the CET-2015
The candidates are advised not to submit their application forms for appearing for CET-2015 if they do not fulfill any or all of the relevant eligibility requirements

Selection Procedure for BVDU, Pune

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the Common Entrance Test (CET-2015) for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS programs conducted by the university

Application Procedure

A candidate desirous of appearing in the CET-2015, is required to complete the prescribed application form appended at the end of this brochure and submit the same to the University, on or before the scheduled date

Instructions for Completing the Application Form

i) The application form for admission to CET-2015 is common for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS courses and also for all the colleges mentioned on page number 24; no separate form is prescribed for any particular course or college
ii) The candidates should avoid overwriting, cutting, erasures on the form. Any discrepancies in the statements and/or submission of incomplete form will lead to its rejection/cancellation of admission
Candidates are not required to Enclose Originals or Photocopies of any Certificate with the Application Form
Completed application form must be accompanied by CET-2015 fee of Rs.2000/-; if submitted in person the fee can be paid by cash or demand draft if mailed the fee should be paid by Demand Draft of Rs.2000/- drawn on any Nationalised bank payable at Pune, or Bharati Sahakari Bank Ltd only in favour of "The Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University”, Pune to the following address

Issue or Admission Cards

Admission Cards for CET-2015 will be dispatched by post to candidates under certificate of posting; the Admission Card will indicate the Roll Number and Examination Centre allotted to the candidate with its address
The Candidate must not mutilate this Admission Card or change any entry made therein after it has been authenticated by the University authorities
In case the Admission Card is not received by a candidate by 01st May 2015 he/she should contact the concerned Designated Centres at Pune, Navi Mumbai and New Delhi (addresses given on page Cover 3 or the concerned examination centres at Vadodara, Hyderabad, Indore and Bangalore on addresses given on page Cover 3 one day prior to the scheduled date of Entrance Test, CET-2015, for collecting a duplicate admission card
(For centres at Lucknow, Jaipur Chandigarh, Allahabad and Varanasi the candidates should contact the designated centre at New Delhi)
In such a situation, the candidate should bring two copies of his/her authenticated photograph alongwith him/her and a proof of submission/mailing of application form; in case no proof is submitted, duplicate admission card will not be issued
Mere purchase of application form will not be considered as a proof of sending the completed application form

Eligibility Criteria

GCET admission to Professional Degree courses included in this prospectus, an applicant must fulfil the following criteria:
Nationality: Admission to professional courses in State of Goa is open to Indian nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria under various categories. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passport may also apply for seats reserved under NRI category. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category
Foreign Nationals must apply to Govt. of India
Age: An applicant to Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Homoeopathy Allied Health Sciences and Nursing must have competed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2015 of the academic year of admission to become eligible for admission to First Year
No age limit, minimum or maximum, is specified for admission to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture
Valid score at GCET-2015: An applicant for Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, Homoeopathy, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing must have appeared and obtained valid score at the Goa Common Entrance Test GCET conducted by Govt of Goa for the year of admission
GCET score of the previous year/s shall not be valid; for Medicine and Dentistry Degree courses, minimum GCET score should be 50% (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC and 45% for applicants belonging to PH category) aggregate in specified subjects
No minimum limit is specified for other courses
An applicant for Degree Course in Architecture must have appeared and obtained valid score at NATA conducted by Council of Architecture
Qualifying Exam & Minimum Marks: An applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Exam of the Goa Board or an Exam conducted by the CBSE New Delhi, or any other exam, which in scope and standard, is deemed to be equivalent to the HSSC exam of Goa Board, and must have obtained the minimum percentage of marks in the specific subjects, as prescribed for the admission to respective professional courses, as under
a) First Year MBBS, BDS, BHMS, AHS & B.Sc. in Nursing
MBBS, BDS, BHMS & AHS: Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) exam of Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent exam with English & secured not less than 50% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together. (40% for the applicants belonging to SC/ST & OBC only and 45% for applicants belonging to PH category for MBBS /BDS Course)
B.Sc in Nursing: Applicants should have passed HSSC with minimum 50% aggregate marks, as well as secure 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology for General Category, (45% aggregate marks in all subjects for candidates belonging to SC/ST category, as well as min. 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
b) First Year B.E.: The applicant should have passed the HSSC (Std.XIIth) Exam of the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent exam with English, Physics & Maths as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Sci./Biology, & secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate to SC/ST and OBC only)
c) First Year B.Pharm: The applicant should have passed the HSSC (Std.XIIth) Exam of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent exam with English, Physics & Chemistry as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology, and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Chemistry with one of the following subjects Mathematics/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology (40% for the applicants belonging to SC/ST & OBC only)
As per Pharmacy Council of India Regulations, candidates passing Senior Secondary School Exam conducted by National Open School, New Delhi are not approved/eligible for admissions to B.Pharm
d) First Year B.Arch.: The applicant should have passed the HSSC (Std.XIIth) Exam of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent exam with Mathematics as one of the subjects and secured at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% aggregate marks for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC); or
10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks; or International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of exam
Applicants scoring min 80/200 at NATA will be eligible for admission to B.Arch., provided NATA score is obtained by answering NATA exam before last date of submission of admission form
e. Kashmiri Migrants Only in Engg Courses: The applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) exam or its equivalent exam with English, Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology & secured not less than 45% marks
f) Admission of Eligible Diploma/B.Sc Degree holders to First Year of Engg/Pharmacy Degree Courses: Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering /B.Sc Degree with Mathematics as a subject at Std XIIth , with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC), shall be eligible for admission to First Year of Engg Degree Courses, subject to vacancies in First Year, after vacancies at Lateral Entry into Direct Second Year are exhausted
The merit list of such candidates shall be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks scored at qualifying exam

GCET 2015 Exam Pattern

The exam will consist of four papers as physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology
Each paper will consist of 75 (Seventy Five) questions to be answered in two hours (One hundred & twenty minutes)
Each question shall have four choices for answers, out of which only one shall be correct
Correct answer shall carry one mark for each question. There will be no negative marking for wrong/multiple answers
The examination will be in English language only
The questions will be composed from the 11th & 12th syllabus prescribed by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education

Selection Process

The selection will be made through the counselling process; the candidates will be ranked as per their individual score in GCET result 2015 and called for counselling
After the successful processing of counselling, the candidates will be allotted the institutions and seat as per their ranks

How to Apply

1. The Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa shall conduct Goa Common Entrance Test 2015 (GCET-15) for admissions to Professional Degree courses in Medical, Dental, Engineering, Pharmacy, Homeopathy, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing (at Institute of Nursing Education)in the State of Goa, for the academic year 2015-16
Admissions to Degree course in Architecture shall be on the basis of NATA as per details given under eligibility
2. This prospectus is uploaded on website www.dtegoa.gov.in of the Directorate of Technical Education
3. Applicants shall download, print and submit application form for GCET-2015 (Form A), at notified locations as per Centre opted, on specified dates, along with application fee of Rs.1500/- payable vide demand draft drawn in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji - Goa, on any Scheduled Bank, and three identical photographs as indicated, and other relevant certificates (self attested photo copies), to obtain the Photo-Admit Card, from the Admission Committee
4. The applicant should submit the Application Form (A) for GCET-15 in person at the notified Application Reception Centre as per centre opted, along with a Demand Draft of Rs.1500/- payable in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji, and three identical photographs as indicated, and obtain the Photo-Admit Card, from the Admission Committee, on the same day
5. Incomplete Application Forms shall not be accepted. Application Form for GCET-15 shall not be accepted by post or through messenger. Forms shall be accepted with additional Late Fee of Rs.1000/- till scheduled date (30th April 2015)
Forms shall not be accepted after the last date of submission mentioned in the prospectus

Mode of Payment

Following fees are payable through separate bank drafts of any Nationalised or Scheduled bank to the authority mentioned against the payment Rs.1000/- by Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Director of Technical Education" payable at Panaji or in cash at the time of admission
The admit card will be issued only to candidates by hand; after the general prescribed date, the applications will be submitted with additional late fee of Rs.1000/- only

Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for WBJEEM-2015 must have the following minimum academic qualifications Candidates who are appearing for the higher secondary examination (10+2 level) or its equivalent examination in 2015
Engineering/Technology courses other than Marine Engg: Candidates must pass higher secondary (10+2) examination of West Bengal Council of higher secondary education or equivalent exam from a recognized council/board with:
Individual pass marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational Subjects (Engg Drawing, Computer Science)
Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST/PwD/OBC candidates) as well as pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying exam

Eligibility Criteria

Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian citizen. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders will be treated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission.
Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply for the Entrance Examinations. Applicants of Kerala origin will be categorized as ‘Keralites’. Others will be categorized as ‘Non-Keralites’. Non-Keralites are classified as ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ and ‘Non- Keralite Category II’.
(A)Keralite : A candidate of Kerala Origin will be categorized as ‘Keralite’. Children of All India Service (AIS) Officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala Cadre are deemed to be‘Keralites’ as per G.O.(Rt.)No.822/08/H.Edn. dated 29.05.2008. But they will not be eligible for communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities Reservation.
In order to prove that a candidate is an Indian Citizen of Kerala origin for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission, he/she has to produce a certificate showing the candidate or his/her father or mother was born in Kerala.
(B)Non-Keralite Category-I :- A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfils anyone of the following conditions will be categorised as 'Non-Keralite Category I'(NK I). 2
(i) A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents belong to Government of India/Defence Service, posted to Kerala.
(ii) A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents who are serving/served Government of Kerala for a minimum period of two years.
(iii)A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but has been a resident of Kerala State for a period of 5(five) years within the period of 12(twelve) years of his/her study.
(iv)A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but who has undergone his/her school studies in Kerala from standard VIII to XII.
Non-Keralite Category I candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats for Engineering/Medical & Allied courses and will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation.
(C) Non-Keralite Category-II :- Candidates who do not belong to the ‘Keralite’ or ‘Non- Keralite Category-I’ will be treated as ‘Non-Keralite Category-II'. They are eligible for admission ONLY to the ‘State Merit’ seats in the Private Self-financing Engineering
Colleges in the State and in the Management Quota seats in Self-financing Engineering institutions under Government control. Non-Keralite candidates will not be considered for admission against reserved seats.

Educational Qualification

Medical and Allied Courses

MBBS/BDS/BSMS Courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together, are eligible. In the absence of Biology, Biotechnology will be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.
BAMS/BHMS: Candidates who have passed higher secondary examination of the board of higher secondary education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible
In the absence of Biology, Biotechnology will be considered for the courses BAMS and BSMS
B.Sc Hon (Agri)/B.Sc Hon (Forestry)/BFSc Courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.
BVSc & AH Course:Candidates should have secured not less than 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the qualifying examination, in addition to the condition as stipulated in clause 6.2.1(a(iii)) as per regulation 5 of Minimum standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (BVSc & AH)
Regulation, 1993. Relaxation in marks is permissible as stipulated in clause 6.2.4.
Eligibility of BSc. Degree holders : Candidates who have passed the BSc Degree (Three year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biotechnology as Main, and any one or two of the above subjects as Subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main& Subsidiaries taken together, subject to the condition that they have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and BSMS courses.
Engineering Courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission
In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered
In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered
In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered
Candidates who have Diploma in Engineering, or an examination recognised equivalent thereto, by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years from an Institution approved by AICTE, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final year Diploma Examination are eligible for admission
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics/Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology put together are eligible for admission to the seats reserved for Dairy Farm Instructors of Dairy Development Department for B.Tech (D.Sc & Tech)
Architecture Course: Minimum academic eligibility for admission to B.Arch, 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board with Mathematics as a subject of study by securing 50% marks in aggregate; or 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Govt with 50% aggregate marks; or International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination
Those candidates who score 40% or 80 marks out of 200 (for all categories of candidates) in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) will be considered for admission to B.Arch course
There is no relaxation in the minimum passing score of NATA to any category of candidate
There is no provision for lateral admission to the second year or at any stage during the 5 year course in Architecture
Candidates who have a Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, or an examination recognized equivalent thereto, by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years from an Institution approved by AICTE securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final year Diploma Examination are eligible for admission to B.Arch course
KEAM-2015: Candidates should also apply online for KEAM-2015 with all necessary certificates before the last date
The CEE will conduct medical entrance examination under KEAM-2015 for admission to BAMS, BSMS, BHMS, Agriculture & Forestry, Veterinary, Fisheries Course
The admission and allotment to these courses will be based on the medical rank list of KEAM-2015
Age: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December, 2015.
No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed
There is no upper age limit for KEAM-2015

Online submission of application is required to apply for the entrance examination for admission to all the courses (Medical, Engineering and Architecture)
A candidate who does not belong to SC/ST communities will be treated as general candidate for the collection of application fee
The application fee for all candidates will be (general) Rs 800/-; SC/ST Rs 400/-
Candidate can pay application fee in either of the two methods
Security card and prospectus can be obtained from selected post offices in Kerala and outside the State, on payment of the prescribed fee (Rs 800/- or Rs 400/- as the case may be), by cash
Application fee can be paid by way of demand draft drawn on a Nationalised/Scheduled Bank, in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram
